Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the MyLui app for Android ("MyLui", "the app"), published by Wynn Teo ("we", "us"). If anything below is unclear, write to us at the address in the Contact section.

What MyLui stores on your device

When you use the app, it saves the following in private storage on your phone:

• Account details: names, types, currencies, and balances you enter.
• Monthly balance records used to calculate your net worth trend over time.
• Investment holdings: stock symbols, quantities, buy prices, and transaction history.
• Your settings, selected display currency, and your PIN if you enable app lock.
• An anonymous ID generated locally — used only to verify your subscription status with Google Play.

This data stays on your device. We do not receive it and we cannot see it.

What we collect

Almost nothing. MyLui generates an anonymous local ID the first time you open the app. This ID is sent to our subscription server only to verify whether you have an active premium subscription purchased through Google Play. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.

We do not collect your account balances, investment holdings, or any financial information you enter into the app.

Subscription verification

If you purchase a MyLui Premium subscription through Google Play, your anonymous ID and the purchase token issued by Google are sent to our server to confirm and record your subscription status. This is required by Google Play's billing system. Our server stores only the anonymous ID, subscription status, and expiry date — not your name, payment details, or financial data.

Live data: exchange rates and stock prices

MyLui fetches live exchange rates and stock prices from third-party services including Yahoo Finance. These requests contain no personal information — only the stock symbols or currency codes you are looking up.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free tier of MyLui shows banner ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, the AdMob SDK running inside the app may collect and send to Google:

• Your device's advertising ID
• Your IP address and the approximate location it implies
• Device and operating system details
• How you interact with ads, and app performance information

Google does not receive your account balances, investment data, or any other content you enter in MyLui. MyLui Premium removes all ads. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in Android Settings under Privacy.

Permissions the app may ask for

• Internet: to fetch live exchange rates and stock prices, and to verify your subscription with Google Play. Also used by the AdMob SDK to load ads.
• Biometrics: if you enable fingerprint or face unlock, Android performs the authentication check. MyLui is only told whether it succeeded and never receives your biometric data.
• Notifications: optional, used only to remind you to update your monthly balances if you enable that setting.

Deleting your data

To delete your financial data, clear the app's storage in Android Settings or uninstall MyLui. Because we hold no copy of your financial data, there is nothing on our end to delete. Subscription records on our server are associated only with your anonymous ID. Write to us if you want those removed.

Security

Your data is protected by your phone's own security and the optional PIN or biometric lock inside MyLui. Keep your device locked and up to date.

Children

MyLui is a personal finance app for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
